Marshall Space Center is Taking Off!

EnviroLogical Elements completed asbestos abatement at 17 structures prior to total demolition at Marshall Space Center, a NASA facility in Huntsville, Alabama. The project is part of a broader infrastructure modernization effort, funded through the One Bid Beautiful Bill Act.

Asbestos abatement was completed on schedule. With over 2,000 worker hours and no OSHA incidents, over 65 tons of asbestos-containing materials was abated and properly disposed of. All properties were abated and handed over for demolition on schedule.

Included in the abatement scope were NASA Buildings 4550 and 4572. These structures were a part of space exploration dating back to the 70’s with the Saturn V rocket (moon landing) and Space Shuttles. ELE had the privilege of being a part of the team conducting the demolition of these historic buildings (among other important structures).

Our demolition partners commenced demolition of these two magnificent structures (Buildings 4550 & 4572) via implosion in January 2026.
